The rules are simple!

Eligibility
If you live in Clearview Township or Collingwood you can enter the show on your own or through your school if they are participating.  Jr. Kindergarten through Grade 8 students, Home-schooled children and clubs are eligible.

1. Create your artwork

In 2017 we will be celebrating Canada's 150th birthday. Create artwork that celebrates Canada and imagine the possibilities of what Canada and Canadians will be in the future. Choose from one of the following themes:

1. Imagine: Our Future Habitat
2. Imagine: Your Portrait in the Future
3. Imagine: Your Favorite Things About Canada
4. Imagine: Your Imaginary Canadian Creature

Maximum size for artwork including mounting. No frames permitted. Matting is okay.
16x20 inches.
Maximum size for sculptures is
width 8 x 8 x 10 inches.

Any media can be used: paint, crayon, pastel,
collage, mixed media, coloured pencil, textiles etc.

5 New * Press Gallery
The grades 7 and 8 art exhibition is moving to the Press Gallery, across the street from the library to the Simcoe Theatre at 65 Simcoe St, Collingwood, ON
This opportunity will give your age group a more mature experience in a professional gallery setting.
We encourage all grade 7 and 8 students to submit artwork to ensure a robust exhibition at the Press Gallery.
A separate art opening is planned April 22 during the Earth Day celebration with entertainment and hors d’oeuvres.

Art Workshops Option
You may choose ONE FREE workshop open to Kindergarten through Grade 8 students, Collingwood and Clearview residents.

All Workshops take place Saturdays at the
Collingwood Public Library.
Choose from:
Jan 21, 28, Feb 4 or 11 from 1 pm-3pm.

Collingwood Public Library in the Free Schools World Literacy Community Room.
Space is limited. Registration is required.

2. Write you artist’­s statement

Write and detach the Artist’s Statement form in the brochure and attach securely to the front of your
artwork in the bottom right corner.

ALSO write your name, grade, school & phone
number on the BACK of your artwork.
Tip: The Artist’s Statement is a chance for you to
explain what is going on in your picture. Use your imagination! Tell a story.

3. Drop off your artwork at the Library

Artwork can be mounted on paper, bristol board or matted, but not framed. Canvas is also accepted.
Maximum size is 16x20 inches.

Saturday Feb 18 from 12 pm to 4 pm or
Sunday Feb 19 from 1 pm to 3 pm

4. Visit the show

Bring your family and friends to see the show during regular library hours.

Monday-Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The artwork is displayed throughout the library and organized by grade. A handy map is available at the front desk.

Schools are welcome to plan a class trip to see the artwork. Contact the library to make arrangements. 705-445-1571.
