Art Projects:

WEEK 1 - DOT ART! ABORIGINAL STYLE

Students will learn all about the origins of Aboriginal Dot Art.  Create your own Dot Art earth or water creature painting. You will experiment with lines, patterns, movement and contrasting colours. These colourful artworks will brighten up any room in your home. You can even Frame them!

Week 2 - BLOW PAINTED CHERRY BLOSSOM TREES

Every child loves playing with a Straw! Imagine making a beautiful piece of art using a straw as your Art Tool. Students will learn how to use every day “tools” or household items to assist in creating a piece of artwork. Blow a water/paint solution through your straw onto paper. You will explore how this technique resembles delicate tree branches. Flower petals will be created by stamping cut out foam shapes. You will learn line variation, repetition and colour contrast. Frame this finished art piece in a ‘Japanese’ style encasement.

Week 3 - PEEKING INTO A PAINTED HOUSE

What do you love about your home? We will discover what makes your house a home. You will be become a house designer and make a cross-section of a magical house. Each special room will be created and designed by you. What will you place in it? What colours will you choose? Who will be in each room? Let’s take a PEEK at what your magical dream home would be like to live in!

Week 4 - PAPER POPPY ART

Where have you seen the beautiful Poppy flower image? It is used throughout the world and has many different meanings to people. For this session, you will learn cutting skills while creating a lovely Pop-up garden of poppy flowers. Emphasis on complimentary colours, line drawing, size variation, and folding to create relief sculpture.
